Is this the most unique village in Spain? 🇪🇸 Did you know there’s a village in Spain that’s literally built into the rock? This is Setenil de las Bodegas, and it’s one of the most unique places in the whole of Spain. The houses here are built underneath large rock overhangs, and the natural rock forms part of their walls, helping to keep them cool during the hot summer months. There’s two main streets here - Calle Cuevas del Sol, the sunny street, where you’ll find restaurants and bars with outdoor seating in the sun, and Calle Cuevas de la Sombra, the shady street, where the rock covers the whole street, keeping it constantly in the shade. The village is located in Andalucia in southern spain, an hour and a half from Malaga airport. I’d recommend getting here as early as possible to avoid the huge crowds when the coaches arrive in the middle of the day. But even when it’s really crowded, you can take a stroll away from the two main roads, and you’ll find quieter bars and restaurants and really unique streets all around the village. Setenil de las Bodegas has been part of the association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain since 2019, and it’s a must visit on your trip to Spain! #visitspain #travelspain #discoverspain #explorespain #spanishtown Best towns in Spain, Best places to visit in Spain, Spain road trip itinerary, Spanish itinerary, Spanish villages, Most beautiful villages in Spain, Where to go in Andalucia, Andalucia itinerary, Best places in Andalucia
