From what I remember in one of the novels they did critically wound a locust and Baird tried to interrogate it only for I think Marcus to execute it and his reasoning was “The only good locust is a dead locust.”?? I think? It’s been so long I need to go back and read them again.

I remember in the books they found a locust survivor from the floods and they did keep one alive. Baird wanted to capture it for info but Marcus just said to kill it
