I’ve scuba dived there and it totally freaked me out. The attractions that are at shallower depths, like the airplane, was manageable, but the deeper stuff was a no for me! Even more knowledge for the area, this is a man made lake dug by Vernor Materials, used as a dirt pit until they had used up the resources and were ready to fill it with water. Vernor still owns the property!

Did you know that the "lake" used to be a rock quarry?? Whenever they found the mammoth 🦣 in 2003 after they had A&M University archeologists dig it up then they filled in the quarry with water shortly thereafter (many people were curious and trying to go to the quarry) and made the scuba diving school that you are talking about with the submerged obstacles to observe to learn and Asiel's was built after and beside where the mammoth was found for attraction and food (the restaurant owner's used to be the owner's of "The Soda Shoppe" which is now Lake Jackson seafood and they had another smaller restaurant in the mall by Dillard's) 😁
