I’m a dental hygienist who works in a periodontal practice. The deep cleaning is the first non-surgical step towards healing your gums. Hopefully you won’t have to have surgery. I always recommend an electric toothbrush, PROXA BRUSHES and floss. Good luck to you 💖

my last deep clean was without numbing 😭😭😭😭 after she’s like wow you’re a trooper most people ask for numbing. I DIDNT KNOW THAT WAS AN OPTION.

First floss, but only the teeth you want to keep. Then, electric toothbrush that times you for 2 minutes each quadrant, then Water pik. No more deep cleanings if you do that and get a dental cleaning every 4 months.

My gums were horrific after my deep cleaning they were swollen, bruised and bloody but now they're healthy. I went from probing 6 to now 2 and 3.

mine was so traumatizing I haven't been back in a year. I am making an appt today to go back because even with flossing everyday and brushing I definitely need another one

I opted for lanap specifically because of the immense pain the traditional way is. lanap was pain free , and quick healing time. it’s pricey as all hell but well worth it!

This was me. Water flosser & floss. Brushed teeth at least twice daily. Covid kicked my butt & had to get this cleaning done! 5 years later & no issues!

I think one problem is many people call the normal hygeinist cleans a deep clean when it’s two different things and the deep one is way more intense 😅

Root planing deep scale is not a deep cleaning I get deep cleans now to prevent thst Ot hurt for 2 weeks!
