Sonal | Skincare/Pharmacist :
Samraj said I just don’t wanna fake it… clearly producers set him up on this one ngl I went back and listened without subtitles quite a few times to check because it didn’t match the rest of what he was saying

Doing everything except addressing the Samraj caption situation. If production and the social team are happy to plaster a quote across episodes and social media, they should also be willing to explain how it was verified. The difference between someone saying “I’m still going to fake it” and “I just don’t want to fake it” completely changes the meaning and public perception of that person. You constantly preach about protecting Islanders’ mental health and telling viewers not to send hate, yet you’re allowing potentially misleading captions to contribute to exactly that. These weren’t accessibility subtitles — they were production-added captions presented as fact. Many viewers only watch the episodes and don’t follow social media discussions. Their perception of a contestant is based entirely on what they see on screen, so if a caption has misrepresented what was said, the damage is already done. If that caption was inaccurate and contributed to online hate towards a contestant, an apology and correction are the bare minimum. Any accountability should be shown in the programme itself, not ignored while moving on to the next episode. Accountability shouldn’t disappear when the episode ends.
