All done myself! Rocks I all got for free. 12x19 ft, 2.4 ft deep in center. (Central texas). No fish. Having issues with gunk on bottom😫 I have a 7000gph pump in center & a 5 gallon bucket bog so far.

Ponds are just outside aquariums. Same care and maintenance. If ecosystem is balanced it’s easy to care for.

gravel is the secret to not having cloudy water. keeping aquariums for most of my life I never understood why people keep ponds with no substrate. you can keep an aquarium without substrate but it's gonna be more work.

Maintenance is maybe a couple hours once a week. We have koi and goldfish with plants.

Need to maintain it. Have to get inside skimmer every 5 days in summer months. You need to physically get into it. Cover your eyes and mouth. My advise.

I agree about the small pond. I have a small one and a 12k gallon one. Sometimes the small one is so much harder to deal with.
