There is no evidence to suggest objective morality exists or is necessary

As a Christian I like this video. Even inside Christianity, there's moral debates that definitely stray away from the "objective morality" that is said to be the basis. Additionally, something being subjective doesn't make it weak or anything, it's literally normal for human conversations to revolve around subjectivity. And I also hate the "no objective basis" argument because "reduce and eliminate greater harm" is like the core basis of modern morality, which is a pretty simple and strong core. Like objective backing doesn't mean every basis is automatically weak. Modern morality simply is about love and reducing violence and harm, which aligns with Christianity anyways. Yeah there's subtleties and differences but I'm not trying to eliminate every counterargument here, I just wanted to say something

the objective morality side in this argument is just arguing feelings. He is uncomfortable with the idea of there not being an objective moral framework, and thats his entire argument. Something being uncomfortable is not relevant to truth.

Morality is subjective even with god, however there is an objectively best (as in benefits everyone most) moral framework

Religion provides rules, not morality. Morals by definition are a personal code of conduct, your moral compass can align with another's, but you arrived there independently, and WHY your morals align can be drastically different, especially when only some of your morals align.

From a Thomistic view: Morality is not grounded in the will or preferences of a divine Person ( in the sense which you spoke of “God”). It is grounded in the one divine nature, which is identical with goodness itself.

I hope all the kids who spout morality is subjective in tik tok see this video. Most philosophers agree in a general objective morality framework, and I think most people can see in their lived experience that morality is objective in certain areas absolutely

Morality is subjective. We mainly base our morals on societal values from the law, religion, personal experience, empathy and environmental factors. This causes people to believe morality is objective however in actuality it’s a construct humans created which can change constantly

society and community deems what is moral. A stable society condemns murder because its harmful to fruitful co-existence. Based on those aligning subjective morals, moral "groundrules" are established.

My moral standard is based on “if it was me, a family member , a friend, or a loved one, would I be ok with it.”

Quest :
Morality is subjective only if it depends on someone's personal preferences or opinions. God's morality is not based on preferences but on His unchanging nature. Since God's nature does not change and serves as the foundation for moral truths, morality is grounded in an objective reality rather than individual opinions. Therefore, if morality is based on God's nature, it is objective rather than subjective.

I always find this particular discussion unnecessarily. long-winded. I make it real simple. morality is subjective. what we consider moral is a discussion between individuals and the group as well as between other groups. sometimes those discussions are easy while other times they get a bit more nuanced.

objective morality has changed over time and with cultures. what was moral in Sumerian culture is not the same as today. We also find many justifications for our morality. In the universe there is no objective morality, just objective facts.

It’s not subjective form god. This is because god would be a necessary entity ie existence. Anything that is necessary cannot be any other way or dependent. Therefore morality would be objective because it’s a result from god. As people we are also necessary in relation to the necessary being (causally) but dependent in abstraction
