Oakmont being #1 in this is absolutely criminal. # 1 its a boring parkland / heathland hybrid course removed from any interesting geological or geographic interest including the Allegheny river. #2 there is a fing highway cutting it in half. Name another “great” course with the noise and sights of a 6 lane interstate running through it. #3 There are literally dozens of better courses. Oakmont and Harbor town are the two most overrated courses on tour. If pebble beach couldn’t operate as a golf course they would turn it into a national park. They would turn oakmont into an outlet mall.

Chambers bay was a disaster course and PH#2, based on the last tournament there, is ugly and FULL of weeds they call local vegetation.
