Eu has positioned itself as a collective of sovereign nations. Which is not true , policies are decided by EU parliament and now they passed thr ridiculous rule that to object to a motion everyone has to object otherwise it’s approved.

Do you understand that the EU is not a country? The European Union is an economic union. Each country in the EU remains a sovereign country. That is not the intent with being the 51st state.

Canada being in the European Union(EU) would be akin to Japan being in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Canada isn't in Europe and Japan isn't in the North Atlantic .

Joining the EU is not the same. you still retain your sovereignty. You’re joining a larger economic group, but that doesn’t relinquish who you are as opposed to the US who would wanna make you part of their country.
