And they give up their sovereignty in trade and commerce. They state they retain their sovereignty but are nit allowed to grow what ever size if cucumbers they want. Or fish where they want. And if a member vote against any measures or laws has. The EU as a pact have mechanism to isolate, penalize or bypass that country. They can legally compel compliance.
