@jusablonde: This is a bit of a different post but something so important. Recently an old acro acquaintance took their life, reasons of which I do not know but can certainly imagine. For me Acro was not just a sport but my life, my entire obsession. If I preformed well I could sleep, if I didn’t, I didn’t allow myself to eat, sleep, or think anything but acro. All I wanted to make the people around me proud becasue it had been all I had ever been known as…the gymnast. I didn’t have friends outside of the sport, I didn’t go to school, even at home I trained. Nothing else mattered and nobody was there for me. No matter the athlete, no matter the sport, every athlete needs support. Every athlete needs love. Every athlete needs someone to tell them they’re proud. Protect the human inside the athlete. #MentalHealth #gymnastics #support #MentalHealthAwareness #sport
