@thebiocosmos: These #bacteria are so beautiful at this resolution! They use their flagella so creatively to allow themselves to swim efficiently. Some single-flagellum bacteria can wrap themselves in their own flagellum and spin in the opposite direction like a corkscrew to move backwards without the need to turn their body. This allows them to navigate through really tight spaces. How amazing is that?? #biology #microbiology #education #student
