Saying Griffith is in love with Guts is a very dangerous oversimplification. True love does not lead you to try to ruin someone’s life simply because they don’t love you back. Griffith tried to take everything from Guts, and nearly succeeded(I’d even say he DID). Not to mention how he brutalized Casca, someone who made Guts happy, simply to hurt him.
