the same two directors are working on this that worked on all the other shrek movies, so Im going to trust them. they stumbled with shrek 3 but fixed that mistake with shrek 4. im not huge on a million numbered sequels but shrek 2 was the first movie I ever saw in theaters and im going to put some faith in this movies directors

They probably just wanted to go on a different direction with the look of the characters. They could've just remodel the characters to look like how they've looked in the previous films but with new textures, I mean Kung Fu Panda 4 has this with the characters remaining the same but everything looks visually better. And that came out 2 years ago.
