I have my grandmother’s Kirby it was purchased in 1948. She had it rebuilt by Kirby using their warranty just before she died in 2001 and I Inherited it. We still use it near daily.

We had a Kirby and it is too heavy and not practical. Get a Miele Canister. I do agree though that everything was built to last pre 1980

The reason Tupperware went out is because they were to expensive. Because everyone loved the products and wanted them, but going to a Tupperware party meant you needed a thick wallet.
