It was over the days that Don Cherry left hockey night in Canada. I have not watched hockey night in Canada since , the ratings are down big-time. That’s why it’s canceled.

I grew up in Buffalo New York and Hockey Night in Canada was on in Every bar in Buffalo. The West Coast games were the best. And thats why Molsons and Labatts have such a strong presence in the US. Some of my best memories.

Why are people blaming CBC? CBC is public broadcaster. As soon as Bettman decided in 2013 that all that matter was money and gave the national rights to Rogers for $5.2 billion, CBC was cooked. CBC had to enter a sublicensing agreement (dictated wholly by Rogers) where they got no ad revenue, no production input, and eventually their ads weren't even making their way onto streaming because Rogers moved games from CBC Gem to Sportsnet+ (to make more money). Blame Rogers, they are responsible for all of this. CBC won't continue being used (making no money) at the behest of a multibillion dollar conglomerate. I'm glad CBC stood firm and didn't give away the Hockey Night In Canada brand.
