Over 47 years ago, my teacher, a young monk only few years older than me, taught me Nirvana is a state of mind, it is not a place or heaven concept like in other religions. He mentioned that the universe is so vast that our human body is incapable to do the the physical travel. In essence, only enlightened beings get to see the other worlds, which are much more advanced than planet earth. He never taught me Buddhism using the typical spiritual or mystical talks. He set the foundation of my learning of Buddha's teaching in a pragmatic and middle way. Later I went to America for my university studies. By the time I returned 6 years later, he had gone back to China. I miss him. 🥰
