@kristenandkyle: When visiting Amsterdam, don't miss a half-day at Zaanse Schans! Just 20 minutes away by train, Zaanse Schans is a look into traditional Dutch life and craft. The small town functions as an open-air museum, with working historic windmills, green wooden houses, a cheese museum and shop, and a wooden clog store with carving demonstrations. Don't miss the creamy soft serve from the window near the wooden clog store (some of the best we've had!), as well as the fresh-squeezed apple and orange juice sold from a stand near the windmills. On the way back from Zaanse Schans to Amsterdam, we also hopped off the train for a few minutes at Zaandam to see the famous "Lego House", or the Inntel Hotel. Just a few steps from the train station, the hotel looks like a stack of traditional colorful houses - would definitely recommend a quick photo stop! #zaanseschans #netherlands #travel #europetravel #hiddengems
