i tried this on my 4c hair. my hair loves it, it didnt smell bad to me, just buttery our thick cream is more fatty in the UK - around 50% fat. it came out just like yours, I left it on my hair for a couple of hours, then sat under my steam cap for 30 mins, washed out then deep conditioned my hair was so soft & moisterised, this will definatly be a regular for wash day
