This machine is not effective as intended because it causes the seeds to fall back into the water. These seeds are the main reason for the re-spread of aquatic weeds and water hyacinth.
It is well known that water hyacinth seeds can remain dormant for very long periods, sometimes exceeding 100 years, and can germinate again when suitable conditions return or when water levels decrease.
In addition, most of the seeds are attached to the submerged root systems. Therefore, using this machine returns the seeds to the water, which promotes the spread and regrowth of water hyacinth instead of eliminating it permanently.
