@thewanderingmichigander: What a blessing it was to be baptized in Lake Michigan this past summer. Here’s a reminder of the truth Jesus speaks and the promises He gives us. He said because I live, you also will live. Our sins are washed away the minute we put our faith in Jesus. And we get to live with a peace that doesn't make sense, because He lives within us. Baptism is such a beautiful representation of our sins washing away and being made new. Now, my faith journey is not something new to me. I've actually been incredibly blessed to know Jesus since I was a little girl. Everything I am I owe to God. He's what has powered me through every moment of my life. He's why I live every day with joy. He's the compass and rock l've built my life on. But that doesn't mean life has been smooth sailing. There have been times when I've strayed and there have been times when I've been broken. There's been times when I was living for myself and there's been times where I didn't love people the way I should have. Heck, that still happens! But God. I spent so much of my life striving to be loved, chosen, and seen. Filled with so much anxiety; the weight of the world was so heavy. I wasn't meant to bear that burden and neither are you. I've personally experienced all of that being wiped away. It's something that no words can explain, only God could do. And once you experience that, there's no going back. Jesus changes everything. When we put our faith in Jesus, we rise with Him and are seated with Him at the right hand of the Father. We are made new. Our sins wiped clean because of the sacrifice our spotless lamb made for us. We don't deserve this and there's nothing we could do to earn it. A sinless man died a sinner's death on the cross so that He could wash our sins away and so we could live life here on Earth with the power of God inside us. With a peace that doesn't make sense. Thank you Jesus for the gift of Grace and for living on this earth within each and every one of us who calls you Lord.
