Sembra che siano uguali ma per l'inglese Time non viene dalla stessa radice latina e ancora prima da quella indoeuropea. Time deriva da maree come concetto di tempo che si sussegue e deriva dal germanico. Il germanico a sua volta ha una radice indoeuropea. Infatti tempo atmosferico in inglese ha due termini differenti In francese, italiano e portoghese no. Il rumeno come spesso è un concetto a parte perché lì la parola per il tempo atmosferico deriva dallo slavo e ha il concetto di rotazione.
