@a1kennyj: A lot of people get scared the moment a collection company mentions legal action. And sometimes that pressure alone causes people to agree to payments before fully understanding the situation. But here’s the important part: Take legal threats seriously, but don’t panic. If a collection company contacts you: - Ask for details in writing - Keep records of all communication - Review the debt information carefully - Understand your rights before making decisions Not every mention of legal action means a lawsuit is happening. But if formal legal documents are served or deadlines are involved, do not ignore them. Respond appropriately and consider speaking with a qualified legal professional if needed. A lot of people rush into decisions because they feel pressure. Slow down. Review the facts. Make decisions based on documentation, not fear. And remember, options may exist before considering more serious debt solutions. 💬 Message me "CREDIT" for a free consultation! #creditrepair #credit #creditscore #credittips #creditmatters #creditispower #finances #lifestyle #money #mortgage #goals #toronto #alberta #ontario #montreal #vancouver #manitoba #quebec #canada

What happens when it’s a law firm acting on behalf of the CC company. They will take you to court or file a judgment I presume? Issuing a demand letter for full payment. I have equity in my home but my refinance application was declined.

When I was working for a collection agency in Quebec Canada, we sued all the time. This agency was retained to act on behalf of the creditor we were representing, we did not purchase the debt and as long as the consumer we were suing had a property or a job ( in which we would verify to confirm) we would start the process and ultimately obtain judgement to then enforce judgement by either a legal writ on the property or garnishee of wages in which in Qc is 30% gross of the salary collected monthly by the bailiff and then paid to the agency every 3 months. Its quite intense.
