@germanwithsammy: Did you learn something about the US today? Or about Germany? Tell me something you don’t understand about either country! #german #deutsch #learngerman #lernedeutsch #deutschland
its true that the pledge isnt legally required but in a lot of places people will be pissed at you for not doing it. Even though they’re not legally allowed to there are plenty of teachers and admins that will make you feel like it is compulsory.

Also, tornadoes don't care what your house is made of.

Hey, so, building materials are highly regional. Brick is very common in Virginia, concrete in Florida, stone in Pennsylvania, etc.

You are absolutely forced to do the pledge. Teachers do not let you sit out. Also the wood houses allow for extra ventilation which European houses lack which is why lüften is so common in Germany but never a problem in America

you kind of are forced to repeat the pledge. not by law but by being ostracized by your peers and teachers, peer pressure, etc. hard things to overcome in elementary school.

I stopped saying the pledge of allegiance in 8th grade. It got me sent to the principals office every single day I didn’t say for the whole year. I never said it since

I had to run a lot of errands today (here in the US.) Wasn’t having a particularly great day. I have to say, the various cashiers wishing me a good day really helped lift my spirits. 🙂

I got sent to the office and like third grade for not saying the pledge? schools don't care about the students rights to expression.

ik you don’t have to do the pledge, but I’ve heard the students who chose not to get a rough time from everyone who does? like there’s social pressure ?

Why are all prices in the U.S. listed without tax? I know that tax rates vary by state, but that doesn't prevent stores from listing prices that include tax.
