Even though I’m so damn mad at him, I cannot part with his jumpsuit uniform. Got rid of every other uniform. But the jumpsuit was my favorite. And when I found it in his stuff I jumped for joy. I show his badges to my grand daughter who will never know him. It’s ok to be sentimental one day and angry as hell the next. Today has been a sentimental day for me.

hi I'm new here but you might consider having a T-shirt or memory quilt made with his gear or shirts or clothes. it helps give you something to snuggle up with rather than keeping it all in boxes

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss and I can understand wanting to keep those things but please, consider taking the turnout gear to his firehouse and ask them to run it through their gear washer if they hadn't already done that. It's very easy for carcinogens to embed in its structural fabrics and thats not something you want in your home. I'm sure the folks at the firehouse would be happy to do that for you. Praying you find peace and strength.
