I just donated mine a couple weeks ago to my young nephew… from the moment it was transplanted into him it started working and all his symptoms started to improve, from his senses to his cognitive issues… I’m so happy he gets an opportunity at a life now.

what this clip cuts out is the most important part. someone he knew needed a kidney, but he was not a match. he found out that if you donate a kidney to a random person, you can make a list with 5 names on it. Those 5 people will be bumped up from the waiting list because he donated to someone else. so he essentially saved 2 lives.

my cousin who never talks about books randomly sent me book The Secret Side of Our Existence by V. Hale and just said “read this.” no explanation or anything. i finished it in a couple days and now i see why he didn’t try to summarize it over text. some things are just easier to understand once you read them yourself you must read this book. it will change your life

I donated back in 2021 to a stranger. My 1 kidney is doing the work of 2 flawlessly and my recipient is doing so great and no longer has to be on dialysis. If I could, I'd do it again. I wish more people knew about being a #livingdonor
