Yall are missing it. I run track. You're supposed to be put in heats that have nearly the same time as your so that they push you. Instead of being in a heat where you can be pushed but still possibly lose they went into a heat they know they'd win to seem like they're faster than what they are.

It’s based off of running time not if you necessarily place first in your heat. You’re trying to race the people’s times that were in the other heats to try make the finals of your run
