artfight is NOT a social media like tiktok or insta. your interaction with people on artfight is very bare bones, especially outside of july. chances are you probably won’t know what kind of person they are unless they have their entire life story on their profile (which most people don’t). you already have character permissions anyway, and artfights rules on what can/cant be drawn are very strict. just block people you don’t like and report people who break your permissions.

the "weird dni rule" is not new at all. Artfight, out of all places, doesnt need dnis. Its worked for 10+ years (artfights been going on in forums since circa 2007, and its been going on in the website since I think 2015 or 16) without DNIS and its been just fine I assure you

DNI isn't really needed for AF considering they've got characters permissions, if you don't want people drawing weird art of your OC’s state it there, if someone still does draw something weird it's easier to report as well since you explicitly stated in the character permissions you didn't want that type of art drawn. Also a lot of weird things are already not allowed anyways

you dont need a dni, most things that people put on a dni are against the rules anyway, report the art work and move on. even them, if its not against the rules, you can freely block someone.

i thought this was actually going to be something problematic about AF. Yeah the no tracing rule was stupid but like, that’s the only bad thing. DNI’s genuinely don’t do anything. Block people you don’t like. Put things you want and don’t want in character perms. There are rules against horrible drawings like that anyway so like… what do you mean 😭✌

Their behavior wasn’t weird or problematic you guys genuinely just misinterpreted the rules to have something to argue about , it banned specifically tracing it — tracing it is not referencing or blocking out the anatomy, its line for line going over the base💔 also the DNI rule has been here forever and most of the problematic people who’d be in the DNI of someone aren’t allowed really on the site anyways. Theres no rule prohibiting you from blocking freely or not interacting with people regardless. You guys genuinely just want something to argue about

People that would typically be disallowed in a DNI are already NOT ALLOWED to compete at all, like site wide. Artfight isn't a site where you can create your own circle specific to something in my opinion (theres no algorithim or anything that recommends you stuff based on your interests or beliefs) and harmful beliefs and stuff are banned to begin with- if someone makes those harmful beliefs known on their profile via descriptions or attacks then they will likely be found out and warned or banned. I think the rule is just meant to discourage people from trying to like spread negativity on the site. and I feel like Its important to note that the rule itself was likely voted on by the community. I do think not allowing discussion is a bit much but also understandable from a management perspective. Right now art fight staff are preparing for the actual event and ensuring their website doesnt explode because so many people are using it rn to prepare their profiles, characters, look for targets, ect ect. I have more to say on this topic but that delves even further into my own opinions. Overall, no hate to anyone and thank you for your time. And for those who celebrate/compete, Happy Art Fight Season !!

DNI’s are useless. Most DNIs are to discourage problematic people. But problematic people already don’t gaf. They are also not allowed on artfight to begin with because the things they do would go against the rule book. You are also not required to interact with someone you don’t want to unless you are attacked and all you have to do is say thank you unless the art they made for you is against the rules which in that case block and report
