@yuh.it.metro: The "Sloth IF" (also known as the "Rem IF") is an alternate timeline in the Re:Zero series where Subaru accepts Rem's offer to run away together. Instead of facing his struggles, he chooses a peaceful, albeit selfish life. They start a family in Kararagi and have two children, Rigel and Spica. In the main story, when Subaru hits rock bottom, Rem begs him to run away with her. He refuses and vows to save Emilia instead. In this timeline, he accepts. By running away, Subaru abandons the people he was meant to save. He chooses personal comfort over diligence. Author Tappei Nagatsuki confirmed in a Q&A that because Subaru abandoned his path of "diligence" to save Emilia, his save point never updated. If Subaru were to die of old age, an accident, or an attack decades later, his soul would likely reset all the way back to Arc 3.
