@sacramentourbanmedia916: A 1-year-old boy was killed after a Mississippi police officer opened fire on a vehicle outside a Walmart during a response to an alleged shoplifting incident, authorities said. According to investigators, officers in Senatobia encountered two adults and a child who were reportedly leaving the store and getting into a vehicle. Police said the driver attempted to flee and drove toward officers, nearly striking one of them. An officer then discharged a weapon as the vehicle left the parking lot. The vehicle later arrived at a nearby hospital, where the child, identified by family members as Kohen Wiley, was pronounced dead. Another passenger suffered critical injuries. Relatives say Kohen was sitting on his mother’s lap in the front passenger seat when the shooting occurred. They have questioned why deadly force was used and are demanding accountability. Witnesses told local media they heard gunshots as officers pursued the vehicle through the Walmart parking lot. Video from the scene showed bullet damage to the windshield and passenger-side window. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is leading the inquiry into the officer-involved shooting, which remains ongoing. Senatobia police have pledged transparency as the investigation continues. Kohen’s family says they will continue pushing for answers, arguing the situation could have been handled differently and calling for those responsible to be held accountable.#fyp #viral #crime
