ok so nobody sent me this list when I had my baby and honestly??? that feels like a crime lol. I'm putting it all here because I wish someone had texted this to me at like 2am when I was sitting in the dark feeding my newborn and fully convinced I was the only person in the entire world awake and struggling like this 😭 the car thing. I cannot explain to you how many times I sat in my driveway for an extra 7 minutes with the AC on just breathing. my husband would be inside, baby would be with him, and I just... sat there. it felt selfish at first and then it started feeling like the only thing keeping me sane. you are allowed to take 5 minutes that belong to only you. the phone thing is real too. I thot scrolling helped bc at least I wasnt alone in the silence but I was literally just feeding myself anxiety content at 3am like a little gremlin. bad idea. zero stars. and the Beacon thing genuinely surprised me because I downloaded it kind of expecting it to be another app I opened once and forgot about but then I saw other moms posting that they were awake at that exact same time and something about it just... made me exhale. like oh. I'm not the only one. we're all just out here doing the same weird hard thing in the dark together and nobody told us how isolating it would actually feel. it's the closest thing to a 3am mom friend group that I've found and I needed it way more than I expected 💙 the grieving yourself one is the one I think about the most tho. I had this whole idea of who I was gonna be as a mom and postpartum just kinda dismantled it and I didn't have words for why I felt so off. like I loved my baby so much and still felt like I had lost something. turns out that's really common and really valid and nobody prepares you for that part at all. anyway save this for when ur in the trenches or send it to a mom who needs it. she knows who she is 🤍 #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
