I feel terrible for the kids. The nanny's actions are unforgivable. I understand why the parents were extremely angry and lashed out - any parent would be. But hitting the nanny was a mistake. Now she has a stronger case to claim she was also assaulted, which complicates the whole situation legally. The smarter move is to collect solid evidence (videos/photos), fire her immediately, and report it to the police. That way justice is served properly without giving her any defense.
