@gracceking: This trend has been popping up all over my feed and I feel like it honestly resonates with t1d so much. It honestly feels like there are 2 versions of me, the girl at the top - happy, carefree, confident, fun. The version of me on the bottom of each slide is the sick, tired, burnt out, carb-counting, mistake-making, human pancreas that doesn’t get a break. These two versions of me are in a constant battle, but what I’ve come to realise is that they don't actually exist separately from one another. They coexist. I’d say 90% of people see the first version of me, and so few see or understand the second… Yet the second version is a constant, no matter the situation, location or time of day. So here’s a few moments from my life that I love coupled with moments I really don’t. The reality is that they were all happening at the exact same time. (Or only moments/ hours later) And accepting that I can be having the best day of my life while simultaneously dealing with something I never asked for isn’t easy.
