A woman wearing a hijab was sitting quietly on her phone minding her own business when an older woman nearby began confronting her about sitting there without ordering anything. The woman in the hijab became upset and said she felt she was being singled out because of her hijab. As the situation escalated, another man joined in and stated that the woman”whoever she is, she has no rights to say anything in this country”. The entire interaction was disturbing to witness. No one deserves to be harassed or targeted because of how they look, what they wear, or their religion.
