As a parent I understand him. Imagine someone handing you a union job and you have zero expenses.

THIS… my daughter worked two jobs at 16 by choice because I raised her to be fierce. Raising titans over here.

Raised in an upper middle class neighborhood. I thought we were poor. Used to knock on doors asking if anyone needed things done - we were like 10 years old. Started my own business at 24. Retired at 45.

Me as a single mom who raised 4 kids. Made ALL of them get jobs at 16. I nvr bought them clothes, accessories, fast food or paid their phone bills again. After graduation they paid rent or left. All are grown & hv been independent for years. I wouldn't change a thing. I talk to them all regularly and see them more often than I thought. Real love is discipline and guidance. The world isn't a soft place. The has soft moments. That's life. Prepare them

Man I’ve tried to get my 15 year old son to fix houses with me or throw plaster sheets or do landscaping with me but he would rather game all day. My daughter on the other hand knows a lot about a lot because she’s choosing to take the opportunity that he’s not 👍🏻

I was working at 14, and self sufficient at 15. At 17 I had graduated and lied about my age working construction in a refinery then military for 13 years. I raised 5 children 4 stepchildren and 1 biological to be productive self sufficient people and I’m still grinding 13 hour days. You raise children to be adults, don’t wait until they are grown to teach. The time is now. My Dad didn’t give me shit! And I love him for it.

Remember when kids started working at 16, and by the time they moved out, they had their own car, a couple of years of work experience, confidence, a solid savings account, and the reassurance they could support themselves? We need that again. Back then, they couldn’t wait to leave the nest, start their own lives, and make their own rules—and that was guided by the parents, not something that just happened on its own.
