I mean you are in the wrong, you don’t have permission to use their bin regardless if you’d let someone else use yours. You also shouldn’t be dumping it on the street for an hour. So you’re in the wrong entirely.

Depends in our area green bin is cardboard only and can be fined if has anything other than cardboard is placed in it, general waste is a pink lid bin I wouldn’t care if it was a general waste bin day but if it could cause me to get a fine then I’d not be best impressed either

I wouldn’t mind either but some people are so bothered by it 😂 and I think technically using it without permission can be classed as fly tipping and you can be fined. Shame though cause it’s really such a minor thing xx

I wouldn’t care with my bin, as long it was out on the road. But people get funny about this stuff so I wouldn’t use someone else’s bin. I do think it’s odd to leave a bag by a lamppost though! You can get clips to carry the bag with you hands free - would probably be more appropriate to do that
