![In 2011, Dutch artist @erik.kessels created 24 Hrs in Photos, an installation that highlighted the overwhelming volume of images shared on the internet. To make his point, he downloaded and printed every publicly available photo uploaded to Flickr over a 24 hour period around 350,000 images and transported them into a gallery space. Rather than displaying the photos on walls, Kessels piled them across the floor, allowing visitors to physically walk through mountains of everyday moments. The installation transformed countless snapshots of family gatherings, holidays, pets, meals, and daily life into a striking visual representation of the scale of digital photography and our constant urge to document the world around us.
