@dailymail: South Korea will move the Civilian Control Line, which runs parallel to the border with North Korea, closer to the military boundary. The government said the change reflects the evolving security environment and will improve convenience for local residents, according to Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back. The Civilian Control Line currently lies up to 10 km (6.2 miles) south of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL), which was established at the end of the 1950–53 Korean War. Ahn said the adjustment will shift the civilian access line northward by an average of 6 km (3.7 miles) toward the MDL. He said the move responds to long-standing requests from residents and has been made possible by improvements in South Korea's defense readiness. #southkorea #northkorea
