Due to FIFA sponsorship regulations, Levi Strauss & Co. couldn’t officially display its name during the World Cup, forcing “Levi’s Stadium” to temporarily become “San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.” What could have been a branding loss quickly became an opportunity. Instead of hiding from the situation, Levi’s leaned into it. The stadium’s iconic design still made the brand instantly recognizable, and even their social media visuals embraced the censored look.
