@user2837592183382: You probably didn't know that Viggo Mortensen, who played the iconic ranger Aragorn in the epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings, demonstrated a level of hardcore, real-world combat dedication that eclipsed his own on-screen character. #TheLordof theRings#Aragorn#ViggoMortensen#fyp
Viggo Mortenson wasn’t even the first actor picked to play the role. Stuart Townsend, who played Dorian Gray in the movie the league of extraordinary gentlemen, wasn’t adept at sword play, horsemanship or any other physical rigor associated with his role, and refused training. They filled with him for a week or two, when Peter Jackson decided they need to make a change. He and his fellow producers scramble to find a replacement, and that is when they found Viggo. He was not familiar with the character or the novels, but his 12 year-old son standing beside him during the call told him he had to take the role.

This man is so much more than an actor. If he didn’t have so much depth of character, wasn’t so authentic and reeking of integrity, passion, pain and love the world may not have experienced his performance as much as we all did.
