I loved the movie and I think it helped me connect much more with the characters and better understand how they felt. Personally I think that both made mistakes, but much of everything that happened could have been avoided if Nick had been honest from the beginning. He hid important things from him, such as Ronnie and Briar, and also decided to believe Briar, a person who clearly hated him, instead of talking directly to her. And it wasn’t just the kiss, but the way it happened: in front of Noah, his parents and everyone, and precisely with the girl who had been a reason for insecurity for her. Obviously Noah was hurt and made impulsive decisions, and the other boy also took advantage of her vulnerability a little, but there was something he said that seemed very true to me. When Nick asked him what he had that he didn’t have, he replied something like, if she were his, he would let him know every day that she is worthy of the love he deserves and would love her out loud. I think that phrase summarizes a lot of the story, because in the end it’s not just about loving someone, but about making them feel valued, safe and really chosen.
