I bought this kit and threw away that safety spout. I agree with the comments. I certainly wouldn’t be drilling, especially as it looked like it had fuel in the can itself already. Do it while it’s empty use some compressed air and make sure you get all the shavings out. If not at least put a screen on the end to catch all of those shavings when you’re filling equipment with fuel.
