In all seriousness, you've done grandad an important kindness. Current research studies show an undeniable link between hearing loss and mental decline. The behavior you noted - nodding along and pretending he heard you - results in folks becoming isolated and leads to decline. You likely just added years of health, wellness, fulfillment, and connectedness to that sweet man's life. Thank goodness he's got you!!
