The teacher could have done better yes, but honestly as a daycare teacher, I get it. Because of permissive parenting, children think they don’t need to listen when told to or asked to do something. The mom should’ve asked if he was already told to clean up and if yes, then back up the teacher and maybe ask the teacher to be a little more gentle specifically. Now all the child is going to learn is that he doesn’t need to listen to his teacher and the other teachers are probably going to be hesitant about him being in their class because they know mom probably won’t back them up with the child’s behavior.

as a daycare worker, i will say she did absolutely nothing wrong. as said in the video, the child was probably told multiple times to clean up and the teacher was probably tired of using her voice so she silently took it away. i’ve done this many times cause it strains my voice to have to tell a child over and over to clean up.

I think the teacher had already told the child several times that it was time to clean up, but he kept picking up toys. Ideally, before taking the toy away, she should have said, “That’s enough. You’re not listening, so I have to take the toy away now.” Even if the child cried afterward, his mom had already arrived to pick him up.
