@the_echo_journal: That D-shaped septum in short axis. What is causing this?   Systolic, diastolic, or both tells you everything about what's driving it. Drop your answer in the comments.   #echocardiography #cardiacsonographer #echotech #cardiacultrasound #sonography #cardiology #echo

pulmonary hypertension, volume and presses overload (D-shap in systole and diastole), dilatation od RV =>> pulmonary embolism

Flattened in systole and diastole it’s right sided volume/pressure overload could assume pulmonary embolism

pressure on the right side is higher than pressure on the left so could be PE, pulmonary hypertension, pressure overload?

wade. :
D shaped during systole corresponding to pressure overload, possibly causes pulmonary embolism, pulmonary htn, RV struggling to push blood to the lungs due to resistance during diastole we could think of severe tricuspid regurgitation, leading to fluid overload.

The D shape seen above is during systole so during systole is due to right ventricular pressure overload,it could be due to pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, chronic lung disease, right ventricular outflow obstruction ..etc
