I was there protesting outside. They still voted against the 6 month moratorium. It was demoralizing and frustrating to be there for hours and hours, (8 months pregnant by the way) to listen to testimony after testimony pleading against data centers and still have elected officials ignore us and decide against the public opinion.

They are not data centers, they change the name so we wouldn’t catch on to what their doing. They are actually fusion centers, look up what a fusion center is🤯🤯🤯

The fact that they are asking for your address means they’re either trying to dox you (or make you feel unsafe) or they don’t understand that these are put on the internet where people could access your information, in which case, how are they qualified to make any decisions about data centers? Politicians are so out of touch with technology and legislation is decades behind at this point.

God if only we would’ve had this protection here in Mason Co WV. Unfortunately they took our voices with WV house bill 2014. They took pay offs to force this biggest data/surveillance center in the world down our throats. At the same time destroying the only thing that brought people into our area. Even if it is bs imho. The Mothman area is now already effectively destroyed. On top of that we have the highest energy costs in the country. Not to mention the pollution to air water and soil!

We’ve already taken regulations off of ground water I really don’t think it’s going to be worth it to have a data center. Legalizing weed and focusing on that would bring so much more money to the state off the bat. I would rather see industry like that come to ky instead of taking a risk on AI
