Is this only among dark skinned parents of light skinned children.? I ask because I am white with a dark skinned son and I never had an issue with this.

I think people disassociate light from dark, I am adopted and I have a mix race mom and a dark skin dad, no one ever put us together, but as soon as I was in a room with my dad, they swore we looked so much alike!

Yesssss. The amount of times my mom has been questioned by doctors or other figures is crazy. Or the looks on people’s faces when I point out my mouth. You would have thought I asked them to calculus or something

As a stepfather to a wht daughter it happened constantly. They use to ask my child if she was safe or okay the moment I was out of earshot. When she was young she didn't understand but as a teenager she started getting pissed when it happened.

I am brown my daughter is your complexion. I was at the events and was at my kids side or the cheerleader for her so there was no question. I made it know that's my kid because of what you said. If I was questioned I would point to my stomach and said yes I birthed her.
