@ukraine.ua: Over the last few months, several international sports federations and officials have been trying to welcome Russia back into international sport. But the reasons it was banned in 2022 have not disappeared. Russia still attacks civilians. Ukrainian athletes are still dying because of Russian aggression. Sports facilities are still being destroyed. Russian athletes who support the war – and even those who have taken part in it – remain a part of Russia's sporting system. As long as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, there can be no return to business as usual.
