@wonderfullifewithbedford: I hope this video reminds you of something bigger than Schwartz-Jampel syndrome. Life has a way of handing each of us something we never would have chosen. For Bedford, it’s a body that fights him every day. His muscles are constantly tight, and movements that most of us make without thinking require effort, patience, and determination. He still wakes up ready to laugh, to play, to use his little imagination and explore life, to snack 24/7. Watching him has taught me that joy isn’t something we find once life gets easier. It’s something we choose in the middle of the hard. Our circumstances may shape our story, but they don’t have to define our spirit. I think one of the best gifts we can give our children is modeling that despite what we are given in life, God made us with purpose, and we can show up for it, or hide from it. So whatever you’re carrying today, I hope you don’t give up. Keep taking the next step, even if it’s slower than you hoped. Keep believing that God is using your story, because the way you persevere through your hardest days may become the hope someone else needs to keep going through theirs.
