nah. this ain't it. never in 19 years have I been asked to do this or asked to redo a stairway. stairs look best flat side to side. they don't even teach you this shit when you go to take classes and get certs

I always run my cuts a 1/4 wide and stretch sides. that's why people will never call the guy below me after Ive done a job for them 🤣

Just use the carpet glue both of sides I am also carpet fitter always use the glue on sides
