I just was diagnosed with CCRCC (kidney cancer) just had my surgery last Friday to remove the tumor that was sitting on my kidney and I’m now cancer free while keeping 60% of my kidney intact and finally getting an appetite for Whole Foods vs a liquid diet. I’m trying to figure out what to eat and how to change my diet but also things that taste good. If anyone is able to give me some yummy recipes that will be great! Or some pointers of how to change my diet. I know I may not have kidney disease but I feel like I should try and follow the same program as people who do or try to switch up my diet a little. Any advice will be great!

Vanessa, You are a Godsend for those of us who KNOW NOTHING! My doctor made me believe that 60 was “good”…… You helped me to learn. Why are those who know the ins and outs on your pages? You helped me go to 84 from a 49. Oh and drop pounds!!!!!

My partner is on dialysis. Getting his phosphorus down had been tricky and he is on binders. Would the 3oz of protein still apply on dialysis ? I’ve read that people need more protein

OMG! I'm trying so to prevent from getting overwhelmed with what combinations of foods vs medications & other health issues such as gout. Trying to prep meals for my hubby is CRAZY! UGH!.

New follower here. I’m a ckd warrior here on my second transplant and I prepare meals for my fellow ckd warriors. It’s not always easy as I have to come up with menus for stages 1-5 and post transplant after consulting with a dietitian.

the white rice vs brown rice situation needs a bit clarification esp as a person advances in their ckd stage & their nephro starts restricting their pot & phos.....brown rice tend to have higher amounts of these than white rice.....so individual preference for white or brown may not be the case in advance renal disease.

tonight I am having 3broccoli 4cauliflower and half cup of green beans and a small piece of salmon.done in a dry dish with foil led vegetables boiled and strained with serve fruit 3 strawberries 2 small pineapple i pieces 5 red 5 green grapes 7 blueberries and lots of water
